Elissaveta Iordanova has received international recognition as a dancer, teacher and choreographer from her native country, Bulgaria, as well as the U.S., Austria, Romania and others.  She holds an MFA in dance from Sarah Lawrence College, NY; an MA in theater from the National Academy for Theater and Film Arts-Sofia, Bulgaria; and an Associate Degree in Bulgarian ethnic dance. Mrs. Iordanova is a Fulbright scholar and recipient of the National Center for Music and Dance-Bulgaria Award. She has served on the faculty of the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, the National School for Dance Arts, the Academy for Music and Dance Arts, the National Academy for Theater and Film Arts, and the American College in Sofia, Bulgaria.  Elissaveta is a founder of New Stage Alliance (a not-for-profit organization) and  ELEA Dance in Sofia, as well as the First International Improvisational Festival REFLEKT in Sofia. Her choreography has been presented at many venues in Bulgaria, Austria, and Romania, including the Balkan Dance Platform.  In New York City, her work has been presented at DanSpace “St. Mark's Church”, Movement Research at Judson Church, City Center, Fringe Festival, and at the French Festival.
