Urvashie Kissoon is well versed in three classical art forms of India - Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Kathak. She is a well-known dancer in the dance community and has performed at many prestigious venues in the Tri-State and Internationally. Some venues to note are the City Hall of New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Ellis Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Chicago, San Francisco, Kolkata, India and Seville, Spain. In 2014, Urvashie completed her Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi Rangapravesham and in 2018, she completed her Kathak Rangmanch Pravesh with her colleague, Henna Khanijou. In 2021, Henna and Urvashie launched the start of their own school for music and dance, Kalakriti Academy of the Arts. They hope to bring to life the beauty of the classical arts, from all varieties of cultures. Henna and Urvashie want children and adults alike, to feel the joy of learning an art form.
