Ling Tang had fifteen years of traditional Chinese dance training at Hubei Song and Dance Ensemble Youth Academy in Wuhan, China, and came to the United States in 2002. She has performed at the Kennedy Center, the Library of Congress, Smithsonian Freer & Sackler Galleries, and the Chinese Embassy. Also trained as a modern dancer, Ling has been company member of Nejla Yatkin/NY2Dance, Arts United of Washington, and Maryland Dance Ensemble. As a teaching artist with the Washington Performing Arts Society since 2007, Ling gives a "Chinese Dancing Ribbons" program for Grade K-12 in Washington D.C. metropolitan area schools. Ling holds her B.A. from the University of Maryland in Dance and Intercultural Performing Arts, studied under dance anthropologist and critic Dr. Judith Lynne Hanna. Currently lives in New York, Ling holds her M.A. in Arts Administration from Columbia University and works at the Asian Cultural Council.
